Another blogging

Yes, another session of blogging! This time at the BPL. This time around, all have their own email so the Go Blog session was pretty smooth. Phew..such a relief! Can't wait to read their blog...

There's the blogging session again

Am excited...it's the time for another blogging session!
After a merry blogging session we had in KPPAS, I was looking forward to see how the takers in KJMPD.

A while later…

Haha…It was hilarious!
You see, here I was trying to guide the cool ladies in KJMPD how to create a blog when most of them don’t even yet own an email. How was I supposed to get them jump into the bandwagon?

So instead of going for Go Blog, we went for a Go Mail session. Happening...pening pun ada…hahahaha.

Poor Cikgu Zuraidah and Mudzirah. They couldn’t get their gmail account registered due to the congested network. Why of course, 19 participants trying to register gmail account at one time :-). Because of this, they couldn’t get to create their blog and became the back benchers during the session.

Poor fella. I just have to figure out how best to create their gmail account so they'll not be left far behind. If only I could get on to the network....

Reflection

Phew...aren’t you glad the difficult part is over?

Yes, that’s how I feel. I’m so relieved that we finally concluded our first phase of ICMS training. I won’t lie to you, it was tiring. From the moment we planned, created and developed the training module until what it has become today...WOW! I couldn’t begin to tell you how much efforts we put in.

Even up to the last minute of printing, there were more changes. And more changes. Why? Because we want to make sure we produce only the best modules to our client.

But you know what...After being together with the KPPAS team for five day training plus one day of induction, all those efforts are worth it! Just like En Hamid said, not only we got ourselves new friends but hopefully in many ways, we have help ‘changed’ and ‘transformed’ the college team to a better way of working.

So let's the presentations begin

I must say that I do look forward for this session. Why?

Well for few reasons actually, 1) this is where I know if the participants understand what they have learned for the past few days 2) En Hamid’s time to comment 3) a sign that training session is coming to an end 4) I always enjoy teachers’ presentations...(old time sake's payback time for making students present most of the time, haha).

While some were eagered and just couldn't wait to show-off their newly-acquired skills, some were trying to come up with 1001 excuses not to. (And we thought only students would do that huh?)

Among all our presenters today, I was pretty amazed with Cik Norul Hernani (or famously known as Yun to her colleagues) with her presentation on worms....err sorry, Helmints. She took the liberty to start with her presentation by showing her before-and-after-training teaching-aid materials. I was impressed with the transformation.

Note to Yun: ‘Thank you’ for painting such good images on those spaghetti-like worms. Now I have to think twice before I can actually enjoy my favourite mee mamak...whoahhh!!

But overall, it has been a great presentation session. And yes, it was fun too. We couldn’t stop laughing with all the spontaneous jokes. I really hope with the comments from both En Hamid and Suhaimi, they will further improve their lesson plans and teaching-aid materials.

Bravo to En Zaidi with his selamba-way of presenting, En Norizam (poor guy, couldn’t play his video...I’ve seen the video and it was interesting. Too bad though), En Mat, En Razak and En Jamarudi who worked hard to finish his lesson plan although he just joined the training session.

With these presentations, we finally concluded our Phase-1 of ICMS Adoption Training. It was quite amazing to see how the training had changed the participants’ perspectives of integrating ICT in their daily teaching and learning.

To Mr Yu and the college management – thank you for making this training works
To Pn Samsad or Kak Sad – thank you for your assistances and hospitality. Toksah pening-pening kepala Kak Sad no, Kak Sad pun boleh buat.

Last but not least, to all participants – It has been a pleasure conducting this training with you guys. Don’t forget to keep updating the blog, okay.

Good bye KPPAS for now. Insya Allah, we shall meet again in Phase 2.

Training on Track

Suhaimi looks much better today, although his ‘p.a system’ still yet to recover. Sounds like a male-version of Ella to me. Nevertheless being Suhaimi, ‘rain or shine’; he never seizes to amaze us with his many jokes. We noticed he was struggling to conduct the training in this condition (bad sore throat, aching body), but hey...a guy just got to do what he has to do, right?

Heard En Chiang supplied him some drinks with honey. Well, thanks En Chiang.

Anyway, despite Suhaimi’s unfortunate health situation, the training by far is on track. Today, the participants learned the many functions in MS Excel; help making students’ assessments more efficient, faster and most importantly, easier! Not to forget, producing teaching-aid materials using MS PowerPoint. Mannn..., they can’t just stop browsing the http://www.youtube.com/ for more related resources. I wonder if they were really searching for educational materials and not something else...hmmm, perhaps I should make a round tomorrow see what they are up to. LOL.

As for me, today I just assisted Kak Ani, the librarian to do some simple MS Excel exercises. She told me that students usually ask her help to do charts. Depa ingat Kak Ani ni librarian tau semua kot, she claimed. She was thrilled once she knew how easy it was to do a pie chart in second! Habislah Kak Ani, lepas ni lebih ramailah students mintak buat graf.

And did I mention what was the tea break we had yesterday? Sam, if you read this, I didn’t mean to make you jealous but I just got to tell you. We had superb roti jala with kuah durian (durian gravy). En Hamid, being a durian lover can’t resist for second serving (or should I say third? Hehehe...jangan marah En Hamid).

I truly enjoyed the food so far. Kudos to Mak Siah; our caterer for this training. Memang sedap!

Wonder what would be our tomorrow’s menu.

Go Blog

Today is my second session in ICMS training. Suhaimi is still not feeling well, so I have to cover his slot to teach the partcipants how to create a blog.

So, having to teach them to blog, it's only fair I created one for ICMS too. Tadaaa...so here it is.

Meanwhile, the participants are having a tough time to come up with catchy name for their blogs. Hahaha...funny, how they come up with names. Mr Tham for example, is quite creative...having http://thamdrive.blogspot.com/ for his, while one with softy title: http://kodiangsepi.blogspot.com/

Can't wait to compile the whole list!
